"Post No. 535"
And today, a serious note. I urge anyone and everyone, whether you attend comic book conventions or not, to please read the comments on THIS blog site today. This is a very serious matter that should be addressed and corrected for the safety and welfare of all convention attendees immediately. (Thanks!)

Regarding that blog you referenced about harassment at conventions, it listed 4 instances of harassment. 1) Grabbing a girl's butt. Harassment and should result in the harasser being ejected and the girl should have slapped him immediately. 2) Flirting with a girl and asking her out. Not harassment. Sorry, nothing wrong with conversation even if it is annoying. 3) Hugging and kissing same girl without permission. Definately harassment. Again action should be taken 4) Criticizing a person's artwork. Sorry, only free speech. They have as much right to say your art stinks as they do to say your art is great. No foul. 5) Photographing girls at the convention was also aluded to. Again, sorry but nothing wrong with that in public places. Restrooms or dressing areas would be a different story.
I didn't agree that ALL of those incidents would constitute harassment either, but overall thought what had been reported was of enough interest to generate concern in general amounst those who attend conventions, especially since said incidents seem to be always aimed toward female attendees.
